Part of a reporting system built for a home services company. This piece follows the money both ways: ad cost into the scoreboard every day, and sold jobs back out to Google Ads with their value.
the challenge
Google Ads can count clicks and calls, but it can’t see what happens after the phone is answered. The office books the job in Housecall Pro and the tech sells the work in the field, and none of that makes it back to the ad account. Campaigns end up judged on calls that may never have turned into a job.
the approach
Ad cost arrives every day from a Google Ads script, replacing the spend that used to be typed in by hand. Website forms carry the ad click with them, and visitors from the ads see a number from a CallRail tracking pool, so every call is tied to the click that sent it. The scoreboard then matches those calls and forms to customers and jobs in Housecall Pro without touching the lead sources the office sets.
That makes each campaign and keyword answerable for the work it actually sold, down to booked jobs, revenue and revenue for every dollar spent. A second script sends sold jobs back to Google Ads with their invoice value, so the ad account learns which clicks become paying customers, not just which ones ring the phone.
